When we started Maket in 2021, ChatGPT wasn’t even a blip on the radar, and the idea of having an actual discussion with your computer was straight out of science fiction. What a difference a few years can make. We now regularly tap LLMs for assistance, expecting them to understand exactly what we want, and then happily carry out our wishes. Our expectations of how software should work have completely changed.
And soon, Maket will change too. For the past few months, we’ve been hard at work on a brand-new version of Maket, redesigned from the ground up to combine the latest advances in AI with a novel and radically simple user interface — all with the goal of putting architectural power even more firmly in your hands.
So what does this look like?
It starts by putting an LLM steeped in architectural knowledge at the core of Maket, accompanied by a fleet of architectural agents. Acting as your AI architect, Maket is there to help.
Chief among those agents is a brand new version of our floorplan generator, trained on thousands of high-quality plans. Maket innately understands the particularities of each plan, including flow and adjacency rules. This allows us to produce layouts that are accurate, coherent, and tailored to your needs.
Once you’ve generated your floor plan (or uploaded an existing one), our layout editor lets you fine-tune wall placement, explore furniture layouts, or pretty much anything else you can dream of. All the while, Maket’s AI is there by your side to suggest improvements and spark inspiration.
Finally, you can assign styles, materials, or reference images to specific parts of your plans, then see it all come to life with photorealistic renders.
If you’re a builder or developer, you can also integrate your own floor plans and finishes directly into Maket, letting you and your customers explore and visualize plans according to your unique standards.
Maket is on a mission to democratize architecture and bring good design to every home, and we can’t wait to get this new version into your hands.
